Tiny Habits

Forever?

It seemed too good to be true as I mulled over what I would do with the last chapter of my life. I’d come up with ideas and before long, my self-talk consisted of limiting thoughts such as:

I’ll never…

I can’t…

I’m stuck…

I’m not good enough…

It’s too hard…

I’m too scared to…

I’m too old to…

I’ll do it later…

You get the idea. Yes, I’ve been there too. Right before lockdown, my doctor suggested that I look into the Whole30®, as I was just feeling less than both physically and emotionally. My first Whole30® journey opened up a world of resetting my relationship with food, emotions, habit change, and that ever-present question, “What do I want to do with my life?” 

During this process, I discovered the TinyHabits® approach to behavior change. Behavior happens when motivation, environment, and prompts converge. You’ll learn as I have that “going big,” or getting “everything” done, or doing it “all” can be overwhelming. My shift towards a happier life came when I started to give myself permission to be human. 

My personal power was slowly, but surely being unleashed. Feelings of success led to more feelings of success. Emotions created habits! Tiny helped me build the momentum, mindset, and confidence to get things done. Tiny is and continues to be transformative. 

You are the hero of your own life, but because we’re human, we sometimes get in our own way. As your coach, I will be there to support you and remind you that if your life isn’t working, it’s not a character flaw, but a design flaw. People change best by feeling good, not by feeling bad. Change is a skill and I will be there every step of the way for you as you play with and practice the skills of change. You’ll generate ideas and revise recipes until the habits work specifically for you!
